Sport injuries
The infrared (808 nm monochromatic and coherent *) light of the Safe Laser 500 Infra is valid up to a depth of 8 cm, so it can be used excellently e.g. in the therapy of locomotor diseases, where it has a pain killing, anti-inflammatory effect and accelerates the healing of muscles, tendons and joints. At higher doses, the articular cartilage surfaces and cartilage are also suitable for regeneration.

Injuries

Diseases due to overwork
Tendonitis (tendinitis), myositis, mucositis, inflammation at the origin and insertion of the muscle (eg “tennis elbow” = inflammation of the peritoneum due to overexertion at the point of insertion of the forearm tension muscle).
Degenerative lesions
Joint wear, cartilage wear (arthrosis), arthritis, pain relief in spinal diseases, reduction of inflammation (eg lumbago), muscle diseases (eg muscle pain, narrowing of joint movement – contracture)

Musculoskeletal disorders can cause problems and pain in different parts of the body and in several joints.
The healing time of traumatic and sports injuries is shortened by soft laser therapy!
Used before surgery, it accelerates the absorption of hematomas and edemas, so the surgical area becomes more accessible and pain is reduced.
Even after surgery, use the laser 1-2x a day for faster healing.
In the case of bone fractures, a “small window” is usually cut on the plastered limb, so direct laser illumination intensively aids the ossification processes.
Healing of wounds and injuries
The soft laser exerts a biostimulation effect on the living organism. This means that cells and tissues are able to regenerate faster when illuminated with soft laser light (eg wound healing is accelerated). Laser light increases the metabolism of cells, and even new cells, tissues, and new capillaries are formed.
Pain Killing
The pain killing effect of laser therapy is based on several biological processes:
- It blocks the transmission of pain stimuli between the injured body part and the brain. This reduces nerve sensitivity and significantly reduces pain.
- Reduces inflammation and swelling in the injured part of the body. These not only “play” a role in relieving pain, but also promote healing.
- It increases the production and release of endorphins and enkephalins, which are natural analgesic chemicals in our body, thus reducing the sensation of pain.

Reduction of inflammation and swelling
Laser therapy dilates smaller arteries and lymphatic vessels. This increased vasodilation allows the fluid accumulation that causes swelling (edema) to leave the affected areas effectively. Enlargement of the lymphatics also improves lymphatic circulation, which promotes this vital healing process. This biological mechanism explains why bruising heals extremely quickly with laser therapy.
Nerve and muscle injuries
After injury, laser therapy accelerates the regeneration of neural connections, reducing the time it takes for nerves to heal. In addition, it enhances the strength of signals transmitted through nerve fibers, which generally improves nerve and muscle function. These two processes explain why laser therapy is so effective in relieving the symptoms of nerve injuries (sharp pain, numbness, tingling, burning sensation).
Immune system
The photons of laser light are directly absorbed by the chromophores (color-carrying molecular enzymes in the cells) that are found in most cells in our body. Absorption of laser light activates certain enzymatic processes that trigger the production of ATP. ATP (adenosine triphosphate) is the only and most important form of energy that drives all chemical reactions in every cell in the body. Increased energy production results in faster, more efficient function and regeneration, especially for immune-specific cells. This increased effectiveness helps the immune system to defeat unwanted microbes and pathogens.
Excessive scar tissue formation
Laser therapy reduces the formation of excessive scar tissue (fibrous connective tissue) after cuts, burns and surgeries, as it improves the blood supply to the injured area, promotes effective removal of waste products and therefore speeds up the healing process. Faster healing always results in less scar tissue formation.

Blood circulation, lymphatic circulation
Soft-laser therapy significantly promotes the formation of new capillaries (tiny blood vessels) in damaged tissues. The more capillaries can deliver more blood to the damaged areas, which speeds up healing and regeneration processes, so wounds heal faster and scar formation is reduced.
Laser radiation also has a serious effect on individual blood cells. Laser light significantly increases the oxygen and nutrient carrying capacity of red blood cells. This allows for increased energy production, metabolism, and thus regeneration of cells and more efficient production of certain enzymes. The effect can be felt throughout the body and not just in areas treated with laser light.
Nervous system diseases
Post-herpetic pain: burning pain that often lasts for years after the cure of shingles (herpes zoster) along the course of the nerve. (With Safe Laser Infrared, the treatment time is 2 minutes per dot along the course of the nerve. After the first treatments, the pain may increase as a treatment reaction and then improve.)
Phantom pain: Pain at the site of the lost limb after limb amputation (a very strong treatment response is expected within 12 hours, the pain may intensify for 24 hours, but improvement can be seen after the 2nd treatment.)
In summary, laser light stimulates the body’s ability to heal itself
Laser therapy also stimulates the production of fibroblasts, which are necessary building blocks for collagen production. Collagen is the essential protein that is essential for the regeneration of old tissues and the healing of damaged tissues. Due to its effect on enhancing collagen production, laser therapy is extremely effective in treating open wounds and burns.
Way of treatment
The Safe Laser 500 Infra laser should be placed in contact with the painful or damaged area and illuminated for the specified time and then moved on to the next point. (disposable protector can be assigned to the operator head).
Several points can be treated one after the other depending on the size of the painful, damaged surface. Generally, “pressure sensitive” points should be treated.
For maximum safety, only turn on the laser by placing it on the skin surface to avoid accidental glare! At the end of the treatment, switch off the device before removing it from the skin!

The layer to be treated deeper than 8 cm can be better achieved by pressing the Safe Laser 500 Infra treatment head slightly into the tissues. If e.g. due to an open wound, the laser cannot be placed on the surface of the skin, it should be kept as close as possible (max. 0.5 cm), in which case the treatment time should be extended by 1 minute per point so that the right amount of energy for healing enters the body !
Frequency of treatment
The frequency of treatments depends on the duration of the disease. (How long has the problem arisen?)
- Treatment of acute illnesses (recent illness) or postoperative cases: Treatment should be given daily for 1-2 weeks and then 3 times a week until symptoms have resolved. Improvement can be seen already during the first treatment or within 1 day! (For acute illnesses, treatment can be continued for the first time for as long as no improvement is seen.)
- Treatment of chronic (prolonged) diseases (developed more than 6-8 weeks): Prolonged illnesses need to be treated less often. Use the laser device 3 times a week until the symptoms disappear or are significantly reduced.
In chronic (long-standing) diseases, recovery naturally takes longer (days, weeks, possibly months). After the first treatments, you may feel a slight tingling sensation or, in painful conditions, the pain may increase (treatment reaction), but this is a temporary phenomenon. The intensity of the pain decreases continuously with the number of treatments and disappears after 3-4 treatments, then improvement begins. The treatment response is a normal accompanying phenomenon, a sign that the patient is responding to therapy. In case of increasing pain after treatment, halve the treatment time and frequency of treatment. You can return to your original treatment after 3-4 treatments.
If we find that e.g. the painful joint does not improve or “worsen”, then we are probably treated with too low a dose (too short irradiation), in which case we can increase the treatment time by approx. 2-3 minutes.
If the pain may increase as a result of regular treatments, it will become more prolonged, a sign that we have been treated with too much. Over-treatment does not cause permanent injury. In this case, skip some treatments and continue therapy with a lower dose (fewer times or shorter treatment times).
One of the causes of accompanying pain is the sudden onset of microcirculation (blood flow in the smallest blood vessels) in stagnant areas. Decomposition products that have accumulated on stagnant parts (which have not been transported) suddenly enter the circulation, so nausea, fatigue and malaise may rarely occur (after treating large areas with high doses).
If the pain is not reduced with the increased dose within a few weeks, the pain is likely to radiate to this part and the cause is elsewhere. Finding the real cause of pain is addressed by “trigger point therapy”. More frequent or prolonged treatments do not necessarily speed up healing because there is a biological limit beyond which cells cannot be further stimulated by irradiation!

Determination of treatment location
– For muscles: the muscles are thoroughly palpated and the “pressure sensitive” points are treated.
– For joints: usually treated in the line of the joint gap.
The joints can be “opened” by bending the limbs so that light can be delivered to the inside of the joint. We also palpate the muscles that move the joints and treat their sensitive points.
In tendons: in the adhesion of the tendon, in the muscle-tendon transition, resp. treated at “pressure sensitive” points.
If you do not hit the treatment points exactly, the therapy can still be effective, as the light from Safe Laser Infra is scattered over a large area.

Rehabilitation of sports injuries
During my 30-year career, I have been struggling with minor or major injuries since my adolescence, sometimes due to overload, sometimes due to impacts at training or matches. I have been able to heal under the hands of very good doctors over the years, I have tried many methods.
It seems that with the help of the last tried laser treatment, the Safe Laser 500 Infra, my shoulder started for a very effective healing. I am complaint-free, at the age of 38 I still play in the first class in the Honvéd. I’m so glad I did a strong two month treatment all the way through and the pains that were in my shoulder with the various movements, shooting and swimming movements, in the gym and many times even at night, are gone.

Healing a bone fracture with Safe Laser
On June 23, my shoulder bone broke to pieces due to a fall, luckily it stayed in place, it didn’t move. He was x-rayed in traumatology and then secured with a ligament… etc.

Muscle tearing, sports injuries
Last summer, we organized an outdoor family picnic with our friends, where we set a game that required a lot of movement. When it was my turn, I left without warming up, but after a few steps I fell down because one of my back muscles was torn in my left thigh.
By the age of twenty, I already had a similar sports injury, which remained a pretty bad memory because it took more than 6 months to recover at that time. I was desperate because close to 70, what could I expect now for recovery. My leg was quickly colour-bleeding at the knee, swollen, I couldn’t even walk. That’s when the Safe Laser 150 was offered by one of my friends, as clinical experience shows that it greatly accelerates healing in this type of injury.
I accepted his proposal with some skepticism, but I didn’t feel the risk of trying. Based on his recommendation, I used the device twice a day for 3-5 minutes at the site of the injury and in the bleeding areas.
